Make Up Forever Black Lipstick

source
A good black lipstick can be somewhat difficult to buy. I've tried two other black lipsticks before my recent buy. One of them was Hot Topic brand, and the other was a cheap Halloween lipstick. Neither of these were satisfactory. They were thick and difficult to apply. I found out that the main ingredient in the cheap Halloween lipstick was Castor Oil, which would explain the sticky, thick texture. When I found out Sephora carried Make Up Forever black lipstick, I was eager to try it.

I'm pleased to say this Satin Black was such a refreshing change to the other black lipsticks I've tried. It has a very smooth texture that glides onto the lips. It feels very comfortable to wear; this is important considering it's very opaque. It does have a nice satin finish as the name implies. As far as the wear goes, it's long lasting but it does stain a bit. The price for this lipstick was $19. It's a little expensive, but not unaffordable, and it's definitely worth the buy. Overall, I would definitely recommend this lipstick.

*Just as a note, Sephora's website has marked this lipstick as "Sold Out." I'm still able to find this lipstick in-store, so I'm thinking other Sephoras will carry it too. You can also find it on ebay, but the prices are marked up.

In a recent trip to Sephora, I was able to take home a sample of their "Glossy Gloss" in "Royal Icing." It looks only slightly shimmery in the photo, but it is a silver gloss on the lips. It's $10 for a tube. It is good quality and worth the money. It also looks great layered over black lipstick.

If you're interested in buying a black lipstick, purchase it while you can; it won't be around forever.

  1. I love the more brown toned black lipstick-- like what it seems to be in the last photo. My skin tone and the size of my lips make wearing black lipstick more misses than hits lol. It looks really great on you however!

    1. Black lipstick is really difficult for anyone to wear. I'm not so sure how well I pull it off, but it's more of something to wear for special occasions.

  2. I think you pull that off marvelously! Unfortunately, I've got rather large lips, so any sort of lipstick makes me look ridiculous, but you look stunning :)

  4. Morgana cryptoria makes the absolute best black lipstick. It applies completely opaque and it's a true black. It lasts all day on me, I just reapply it after eating. I'm so happy with it, she has other great colors too~

Devil's Turnaround

Noonday Missionary Baptist Church's Cemetery is also known as "Devil's Turnaround." It is located along a little back road in Kennesaw, Georgia, and most of the graves are scattered in the woods. It is easy to miss, but some of the gravestones are visible from the road. The cemetery has graves from the 1860's. I wouldn't doubt that some of its occupants were slaves at one time. Many say the land is haunted by malevolent spirits who hurl objects and make physical contact--shoving, scratching, and even biting visitors. I could understand why any lingering spirits might be upset: These grounds have been terribly neglected. Much of the graves are broken and toppled over. Some are barely visible through the overgrowth of ivy and weeds. People also say the root of the haunting may be related to rumored cult rituals performed on the property. Located right by the cemetery are huge power lines (high voltage transmission lines). I could hear them b

Dragon Con 2012

This year was my first time going to Dragon Con. Although it was exhausting, I had a great time. I definitely plan on going again next year. Me and Justean She's feeling zombified. Justean, I think you need medical attention. Getting strangled by my demon friend.  I had to. haha I tried on two authentic steel boned corsets. I originally wanted the underbust (since they're versatile), but the overbust looks really good too.  I'd like to order one for birthday or Christmas. Which one do you guys like better on me?  or I did a lot of shopping, but I didn't actually buy anything. :(  However, I did get some cool pictures. The Goblin King!   Dr. Rockzos (Metalocalypse) I'm not sure who it's supposed to be, but I thought it was very interesting. Guess What! I shook Nelsan Ellis' (Lafeyette from Trueblood's hand)! I love the show (I've only watched up to the 3rd season so far), and Lafayette is my favorite characte

Halloween Update: A Change of Plans

So everyone, I am a little disappointed to say that my Marie Antoinette costume is not a go this year. There has been so much piling up on me between things in my personal life, work, and school, that I have been unable to find the time to get the rest of my costume together. I bit off more than I could chew this year, but I know for next time to plan better. Perhaps you'll see the Queen next year... Although I will not be doing Marie Antoinette, I do have something planned that I can easily do with what I have! I will be using my red dress, a hat, roses, black lace and accessories, and of course some creative make-up, to throw together a Día de los Muertos costume. I think it might even be a better option this year, as I plan on visiting my aunt's house who has decorated her home in a  "Dead Hat Society" theme this year. If you don't remember the aunt to whom I am referring, here is the link to my post about her house.  I will take pictures! It's really spe
